General Discussion / Cheapest ways to stay in touch while you are traveling abroad
« Last post by ednarusk on December 07, 2012, 11:03:00 AM »
Suppose you are on a getaway at some foreign countries.  What would you do to keep in touch with your friends and family back at home? What if you are an occasional international traveler? You may also need to make local calls abroad. So, how would you do these all while traveling abroad?

Nowadays, you have lots of options available which depends on various factors. Making calls abroad and staying in touch with your family and pals isn't expensive as you think (but how?).  Well, here's how.

The easiest way to do so is by using mobile phone. You phone will work overseas as long as your cellphone uses the Global System for Mobile Communications. Many telecommunication companies have this service? Make sure you got one. With your regular mobile phone, you can be always connected to your closed ones.  Using mobile phone a lot for communicating might be expensive choice. Make sure you disable the automatic notifications from your phone apps and automatic email push. So what's next? Well there are other alternatives as well.

You can make calls at low costs by using apps like Skype and VOIP. These offer cheap rates while making calls back home. Furthermore, you can buy local or regional SIM cards or else you can rent a phone. For using internet, you can use hotspot. These days, majority of the hotels offer free WIFI service. You can take advantage from this. In case, you don't use wifi or don't have access to it, you can buy outgoing calling cards at cheap rates.

No big deal, these are what you need to do to reduce your phone bills abroad and be in touch in your family and pals back home. Have a nice trip!! Thank you!!

Making a trip to Europe is exciting. But would you believe that it can be stressful too sometimes? Believe it or not, but the trip can be stressful often. You need to arrange few things that will raise your chances of having enjoyable European tour.

Check your passport. Make sure you have a valid passport and wont expire within 3-6 months. After that, stash photocopies of important travel documents. This will be helpful in replacing your original documents in case of unexpected problems from loss or theft. Make sure you inform your debit or credit card companies regarding your trip and also let them know where you will be traveling. And then, buy tickets. You are likely to get cheapest tickets if you buy them 2-3 months before departure.

Make sure you visit your doctor to get a checkup before the trip. You may need prescription drugs, bring enough supply to cover the trip. Inquire your insurance company to see if they cover you internationally. If not, you may have to buy special medical insurance. You may also look into travel insurance which can reduce the financial risks of the vacation. You are also advised to make sleeping, eating and sightseeing plans before your trip.

Planing ahead is what the best travelers do. With a bit of effort early, you will have a great trip to European countries.

General Discussion / Travel Tips: Packing for Snowy Weather
« Last post by gerg on December 07, 2012, 07:45:12 AM »
What type of weather do you like? Do you know the right travel tips for every weathers? Well, its winter now and I think it will be better for you to give packing tips for snowy weather.

Winter travel to a snowy destination requires bulky warm clothes and extra gear. The packing list for snowy weather is more when compared to the packing list of other weathers. You may even think about skiing or other winter sports before traveling to a snowy destination for which you will need even more gears into your suitcases. Safety is always the first priority when heading towards a snowy place. So, make sure you have enough space in your luggage for everything you need to stay safe during the trip.

Buy a water-resistant suitcase. And then write down a list of snowy weather items to pack. Also ensure you will have cold-weather gear during your flight. Pack up your items in the suitcase. In case you are driving to a snowy destination, make sure you have an emergency kit as well. Last but not the least, if possible, rent bulky equipment like skis or snowshoes at your destination which will save space.
